Carlos, ’97 BS Civil Engineering and ’00 MS Civil Engineering and Gail Gonzalez, ’96 BA Liberal Studies and ’97 Teaching Certificate have made a gift to establish the Hanlon/Garcia MESA Endowed Scholarship for Engineering.

Civil engineering graduates Justin Giles ('11) and Kyle Boyce ('14) are on San Diego Metro Magazine's 2023 Edition of 40 Under 40.

There is something about being brothers that comes with an unspoken bond. You are connected through the ups and downs in a way that no one can understand but you. Electrical alumnus Octavio ('92, '00), civil alumnus Oscar ('00), and Omar ('92) Martinez know this bond, but they share an even more special bond: they are all graduates of San Diego State University.

Engineering alumnae Alexis Bray (BS ’17, Civil Engineering) and Lori Ann Stevens (MS ’08, Civil Engineering) were named among the 2023 honorees of the San Diego Business Journal’s Women of Influence in Construction.

Fidel Martinez '22 and Nicole Hurtado-Savin '22 have been selected as a CSU-LSAMP Program Recognizing Outstanding Undergraduate Achievement (PROUD) scholars from SDSU for the 2023 Winter Publication.

Carlos Gonzalez currently serves as the Regional Executive Officer & Sr. Vice President, Western Region South, for Clark Construction. Originally from Mexico City, Carlos' first memory of SDSU was walking across the footbridge on College Avenue and thinking how beautiful the campus was. This first impression led Carlos to enroll at SDSU in Fall 1994.
